System Acceptance & Performance Testing Per IEEE

New power equipment and especially batteries are often defective from the factory or have been improperly installed which result in losing the site. These testing services are the only way to determine system integrity and protect the customer. Testing also establishes important baseline data to aid in the implementation of a preventative maintenance program, which will improve and maintain a higher degree of system reliability. These tests identify the following:

  • Determination of the electrochemical performance on individual battery cells and the capacity of the battery in accordance with the manufacturer's design specifications.

  • Assess the condition of cell and battery connections.

  • Test and document the performance of the power plant, including individual rectifier operation as well as total system operation.

  • Assess the condition of AC and DC networks associated with the power plant as well as all the buss work.

  • Review system integrity and reliability.

  • Evaluation of conditions that could effect the performance or integrity of the system.

  • Calculate anticipated reserve time, based on site parameters, in the event of an AC outage.

  • Provide written documentation and records.
